Jersey_Mikes Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
The Designated Area typically comprises a 0.5 to 1 mile radius from the front door of the Franchised Restaurant. At Company's sole discretion, the Designated Area could be smaller if there is a densely populated urban area, a readily definable market area like a resort or boardwalk, a specific facility (stadium, hospital, airport, casino, etc.) or a natural boundary like a body of water, bridge or expressway. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Jersey Mike's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is granted the right to operate a Jersey Mike's Restaurant at a specific location within a Designated Area, as described in the Franchise Agreement. The typical Designated Area for a Jersey Mike's franchise comprises a radius of 0.5 to 1 mile from the front door of the franchised restaurant. However, this is not a guarantee, as the size and shape of the Designated Area can vary.
Jersey Mike's retains the discretion to adjust the Designated Area, potentially making it smaller in densely populated urban areas, readily definable market areas like resorts or boardwalks, specific facilities such as stadiums, hospitals, airports, or casinos, or areas with natural boundaries like bodies of water, bridges, or expressways. The company determines the Designated Area before the Franchise Agreement is signed, especially if the restaurant location has been approved beforehand. If the location hasn't been approved by the time of signing, a Location Amendment is executed upon the company's approval of the location.
It is important to note that Jersey Mike's franchisees do not receive an exclusive territory. Franchisees may face competition from other franchisees, company-owned outlets, other distribution channels, or competitive brands controlled by Jersey Mike's. Franchisees are restricted from soliciting orders or engaging in marketing activities outside their Designated Area without written approval from Jersey Mike's, although they can accept unsolicited orders from outside the area.
