What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Jersey Mike's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Phase 2 training in New Jersey for first-time franchisees, or existing franchisees opening an additional location, consists of a minimum of 5 days to a maximum of 14 days. The daily training schedule ranges from 5.25 to 10.5 hours per day, encompassing both classroom instruction and simulated training exercises. This portion of training takes place at the company's training center in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, or another designated location within New Jersey.

For a franchisee, this means dedicating at least one work week, and potentially up to three weeks, to in-person training at the designated New Jersey location. The specific duration will depend on the franchisee's progress and the company's assessment of their proficiency with Jersey Mike's system standards. The FDD specifies that if a trainee does not successfully complete a phase of training, the company may extend the training period at its discretion.

Prospective franchisees should also note that Phases 1 and 3 consist of on-the-job training in a designated restaurant for a minimum of 8 weeks each, totaling 180 hours per phase. All training weeks are to run consecutively, typically concluding two to four weeks before the restaurant's estimated opening. This intensive training program underscores Jersey Mike's commitment to ensuring franchisees are well-prepared to operate their restaurants according to the brand's standards.
