If you wish to sell or use any product which is not on Company's Approved Supplies List or purchase any product from a supplier that is not on Company's Approved Suppliers List, you must notify Company in writing and, if requested, submit samples and other information for inspection and testing.
You or the proposed supplier will pay the reasonable cost of the inspection and evaluation and the actual cost of the test.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Jersey Mike's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee wishes to use a product or supplier not already approved by Jersey Mike's, they must seek approval. The cost for the inspection and evaluation, as well as the actual cost of testing these new products or suppliers, is the responsibility of either the franchisee or the proposed supplier.
This means that as a prospective Jersey Mike's franchisee, you should be prepared to cover these costs if you propose using alternative products or suppliers. These costs are in addition to other fees outlined in Item 6, such as the $5,000 fee for unapproved General Contractor and Architect approval.
