What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Jersey Mikes's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a replacement is required to be trained, even before the restaurant opens, the franchisee is responsible for paying Jersey Mike's then-applicable rate for training the replacement. This payment must be made in advance of the training.
The applicable rate is subject to change, but is currently $2,500 for Phases 1 and 3 (360 hours). This rate may be adjusted pro rata if a different number of training hours is required.
This means that if a franchisee's initial trainee is unable to complete the training program or needs to be replaced for any reason, the franchisee will incur an additional cost of $2,500 for the replacement's training. This cost must be paid upfront before the replacement trainee can begin the training program. Franchisees should factor this potential expense into their initial investment and operating budget.
