What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Jersey Mikes' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to purchase products from approved suppliers. Jersey Mikes may provide a list of approved manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors for food and non-food products, recipes, fixtures, equipment, signs, stationery, supplies, and services. This list can be revised at Jersey Mikes' discretion.

Franchisees must ensure that all products and materials used in the restaurant's operation, such as sandwiches, menu items, ingredients, packaging, and cleaning materials, conform to the specifications and quality standards established by Jersey Mikes. Franchisees can purchase these products from Jersey Mikes and its affiliates, if available, or from suppliers approved by Jersey Mikes that meet its criteria.

If a franchisee wishes to use a product or supplier not already approved, they must notify Jersey Mikes and submit samples and information for evaluation. Jersey Mikes is not obligated to respond to the request and may charge a fee for evaluating the proposed product or supplier. Jersey Mikes retains the right to revoke approval of any product or supplier at any time, with or without cause. This ensures that Jersey Mikes maintains control over the quality and consistency of its brand and products.

This requirement is typical in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to maintain quality control and consistency across all locations. For a prospective franchisee, this means they will have limited flexibility in sourcing products and supplies, but it also ensures they are using approved, high-quality items that meet Jersey Mikes' standards.
