Ongoing Training Programs

From time to time, we may require that your Managing Owner and general managers attend system-wide refresher or supplemental training courses. Any new Managing Owner you appoint or general manager you hire must successfully complete initial training before assuming responsibility for the management of your Salon. After successfully completing initial training, your Managing Owner may provide initial training for new general managers you hire. However we may, for good cause, revoke the Managing Owner's right to train general managers. If we inspect your Salon and determine you are not operating in compliance with the Franchise Agreement and the Manual, we may require that your Managing Owner and general managers attend remedial training relevant to the operational deficiencies we observed. You may also request that we provide additional training. We are not required to provide additional training you request.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Item 11 outlines the circumstances under which Itan may provide additional training or assistance to franchisees. Itan may require the Managing Owner and general managers to attend refresher or supplemental training courses. If a new Managing Owner is appointed or a new general manager is hired, they must successfully complete initial training before assuming their responsibilities. The Managing Owner may then provide initial training for new general managers, but Itan can revoke this right for good cause.

If Itan inspects a salon and finds it is not operating in compliance with the Franchise Agreement and the Manual, Itan may require the Managing Owner and general managers to attend remedial training to address the operational deficiencies. A franchisee may also request additional training, but Itan is not obligated to provide it. Itan also states that during the operation of the salon, they may provide additional training or assistance if requested.

Itan charges an initial training fee of $1,500 for each person sent to initial training after the salon opens. However, Itan does not charge training fees for system-wide refresher or supplemental training courses. Itan may charge a training fee of up to $300 per person per day for retraining, remedial training, or additional training requested by the franchisee. If Itan provides onsite training or assistance, the franchisee must reimburse all travel expenses incurred by Itan, except for onsite initial training conducted before the salon opens. The franchisee is responsible for all wages and travel expenses for themselves and their trainees.
