What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a transferee may be required to remodel the salon. Specifically, as a condition of transfer approval, the transferee must agree to remodel the salon and upgrade all furniture, fixtures, and equipment to meet Itan's current standards and specifications.
These changes must be completed within 12 months after the transfer, or within a shorter period if specified by Itan. In addition to remodeling, the transferee must fulfill other obligations, including demonstrating sufficient business experience and financial resources, completing the initial training program, obtaining necessary licenses and permits, and signing Itan's current franchise agreement.
Furthermore, either the transferor or the transferee is responsible for paying Itan a $10,000 transfer fee to cover expenses related to the transfer. They also must reimburse Itan for any commission paid to a broker if the broker found the transferee. This requirement ensures that the Itan brand maintains a consistent image and quality across all its locations, even after a change in ownership.
