According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase or lease and install specific technology systems, equipment, fixtures, signs, and other required items. The FDD specifies the computer and point-of-sale system requirements. These include a late model PC computer with the current Pro version of Microsoft Windows, an all-in-one printer/fax/copy/scanning machine, Microsoft Office 365 with SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Reader, QuickBooks Online Plus, and a Helios 12 point-of-sale system with 2 terminals. Franchisees must also have high-speed internet access.

The computer system is generally used for preparing reports, printing advertising and marketing materials, and communicating with Itan through email. Microsoft 365 provides access to email, the most current Operations Manual, and iTAN University materials on the LMS platform. Itan may also use Microsoft 365 as an online collaborative area for sharing marketing ideas, local store marketing tools, order forms, contact listings, and monthly sales data. Franchisees will use LMS to access iTAN University materials and QuickBooks Online Plus for accounting functions.

The point-of-sale system is used to record and report sales, track employee hours and performance information, track commissions, host a customer information database, and perform certain marketing functions. It also interfaces with the tanning beds to ensure that sales are recorded and to verify customer identification information based on fingerprint records. Itan provides franchisees with iTAN email addresses and accounts, with the cost covered by the technology fee. Franchisees must exclusively use these email addresses for all communications related to their salon and may not use them for any purpose unrelated to their salon. Itan retains ownership of the email addresses and accounts but allows franchisees to use them during the term of the Franchise Agreement.

In addition to the technology systems, franchisees are responsible for purchasing or leasing and installing other equipment, fixtures, and signs as specified in the Itan manual. The manual includes standards and specifications for the design, layout, equipping, and trade dress for a salon. Franchisees must hire a licensed and bonded architect to prepare initial design plans for the construction of their salon and leasehold improvements, which must be approved by Itan to ensure consistency with system standards. Final construction plans must comply with all standards in the manual and all applicable federal, state, and local ordinances.
