Who must successfully complete initial training before assuming management responsibilities at an Itan salon?

Itan Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

From time to time, we may require that your Managing Owner and general managers attend system-wide refresher or supplemental training courses. Any new Managing Owner you appoint or general manager you hire must successfully complete initial training before assuming responsibility for the management of your Salon. After successfully completing initial training, your Managing Owner may provide initial training for new general managers you hire. However we may, for good cause, revoke the Managing Owner's right to train general managers. If we inspect your Salon and determine you are not operating in compliance with the Franchise Agreement and the Manual, we may require that your Managing Owner and general managers attend remedial training relevant to the operational deficiencies we observed. You may also request that we provide additional training. We are not required to provide additional training you request.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any new Managing Owner appointed by the franchisee or any general manager hired by the franchisee must successfully complete the initial training program before they can assume responsibility for managing the Itan salon. The Managing Owner's initial training must be completed to Itan's satisfaction at least 2 weeks before the salon opens.

The initial training program for Itan consists of multiple stages. It includes 2 to 4 weeks of self-paced remote training conducted in two stages, 5 days of hands-on training at a designated facility in San Diego, California, and 5 days of on-site training and assistance at the franchisee's salon when it opens. The remote training includes online core operational curriculum accessed through iTAN University and supplemented by live virtual coaching sessions.

After the Managing Owner completes their initial training, they may then provide initial training for new general managers that the franchisee hires. However, Itan retains the right to revoke the Managing Owner's right to train general managers for good cause. If an inspection reveals that the salon is not operating in compliance with the Franchise Agreement and the Manual, Itan may require both the Managing Owner and general managers to attend remedial training to address the operational deficiencies.
