Itan Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must hire a licensed and bonded architect to prepare initial design plans for the construction of your Salon and leasehold improvements.

We must approve the initial design plans to ensure they are consistent with our system standards.

Once approved, your architect must prepare detailed construction plans that: (a) are consistent with the approved design plans; (b) satisfy all required standards and specifications in the Manual; and (c) comply with all Laws (including the Americans with Disabilities Act), building codes, permits and lease requirements and restrictions applicable to the premises.

You must submit the final construction plans to us for approval.

The limited purpose of our review is to verify the construction plans are consistent with our system standards.

Once approved, you must, at your sole expense, construct and equip the premises according to the approved construction plans and the specifications in the Manual.

You must also purchase (or lease) and install all equipment, fixtures, signs and other items we require.

At all times during the construction process, you must maintain the minimum general liability and property damage insurance required by the Manual.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial design plans for the construction of an Itan Salon must be consistent with Itan's system standards. The franchisee is required to hire a licensed and bonded architect to prepare these initial design plans. Itan retains the right to approve these plans to ensure compliance with their standards.

Once the initial design plans are approved by Itan, the architect must then prepare detailed construction plans. These detailed plans must align with the approved initial design plans, adhere to all standards and specifications outlined in the Itan's manual, and comply with all applicable laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, building codes, permits, and lease requirements. The franchisee must submit these final construction plans to Itan for approval, with Itan's review limited to verifying consistency with their system standards.

Following approval of the construction plans, the franchisee is responsible for constructing and equipping the premises at their own expense, in accordance with the approved construction plans and the specifications provided in the manual. This includes purchasing or leasing and installing all necessary equipment, fixtures, signs, and other required items. Throughout the construction process, the franchisee must maintain the minimum general liability and property damage insurance as specified in the manual.
