What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the specific location of the salon is determined by referencing Part A of Attachment A to the Addendum. The franchisee currently owns and operates a business at this location, which they intend to convert into an Itan salon.
Prior to converting the current business to an Itan salon, the franchisee must meet certain obligations, and Itan must issue a "Certificate of Conversion Completion." This certificate confirms that the franchisee has met all conversion requirements and that the premises are ready to operate as an Itan salon. The franchisee is also responsible for re-imaging, remodeling, renovating, refurbishing, and modernizing the premises to comply with Itan's standards and specifications.
If the franchisee leases the premises, they must negotiate with their landlord to modify the lease to provide a term of at least 10 years from the Conversion Date. The landlord must also execute Itan's required Lease Addendum. Itan may require these steps to be completed before the Franchise Agreement and Addendum are executed or as a condition for issuing the Certificate of Conversion Completion.
Site selection for new salons within a development territory must comply with Itan's current site selection criteria and is subject to Itan's prior approval. Itan will not review proposed sites until the franchisee signs the applicable Franchise Agreement for that salon. The Franchise Agreement and the Manual outline the requirements for developing and operating each salon.
