What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Section 10.3(a) of the Franchise Agreement is indeed deleted in its entirety for franchisees who are converting an existing business to an Itan salon. However, this does not eliminate all grand opening requirements.

Within 30 days after Itan issues a Certificate of Conversion Completion, the franchisee must spend at least $5,000 on advertising and marketing to promote the conversion and reopening as an Itan Salon. These marketing activities can include digital advertising, guerilla marketing, and public relations efforts.

Itan retains some control over these marketing efforts, as all advertising must be approved by Itan. Furthermore, Itan has the option to specify a grand opening marketing program that the franchisee must follow. This ensures that even with the deletion of Section 10.3(a), Itan maintains standards for the launch of converted salons.
