What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Itan does not review the terms of a franchisee's lease agreement. However, Itan requires franchisees to use their best efforts to ensure that their landlord signs the Lease Addendum attached to the Franchise Agreement as ATTACHMENT "C".
This means that while Itan does not directly vet the lease terms for fairness or financial suitability, they do mandate that a specific addendum be included in the lease agreement. This addendum likely contains provisions that protect Itan's interests or ensure the franchisee's compliance with Itan's standards.
Prospective franchisees should carefully review ATTACHMENT "C" to understand its implications and ensure they are comfortable with its terms. It is advisable for franchisees to seek legal counsel to review the lease agreement and the addendum to fully understand their rights and obligations. While Itan doesn't review the lease, adherence to the addendum is a condition of the franchise agreement.
