What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for determining appropriate staffing levels for their salon. Specifically, the franchisee must determine the staffing levels needed to ensure full compliance with the Franchise Agreement and Itan's system standards.
This means that as an Itan franchisee, you have the autonomy to decide how many employees you need to operate your salon effectively. However, this responsibility comes with the obligation to ensure that your staffing is adequate to meet Itan's standards and comply with the terms outlined in the Franchise Agreement. This includes hiring, training, and supervising employees to assist with the proper operation of the salon.
Furthermore, the franchisee is responsible for all employee-related expenses, including wages, commissions, benefits, worker's compensation premiums, and payroll taxes. It is also clarified that these employees are employees of the franchisee, not of Itan, and Itan does not control the day-to-day activities of the franchisee's employees. The franchisee must also inform their employees that they exclusively supervise their activities and dictate how they perform their tasks.
Therefore, while Itan provides the system and standards, the franchisee has the direct responsibility for managing and staffing their salon to meet those standards, bearing all associated costs and liabilities.
