Itan Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You may hire general managers to assist the Managing Owner with onsite management and supervision of the Salon. Any person you hire as a general manager must: (a) be approved by us; (b) successfully complete all training programs we require; and (c) sign the Brand Protection Agreement attached to the Franchise Agreement as ATTACHMENT "F". The Managing Owner must supervise each general manager to ensure the Salon is operated in accordance with the Franchise Agreement and Manual. The Managing Owner and/or a general manager must be present at your Salon at least 40 hours per week. At any time during normal business hours that neither the Managing Owner nor a general manager is onsite, either the Managing Owner or a general manager must be readily accessible by telephone or email. We do not require that your general managers own any equity interest in the franchise.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may hire general managers to assist with the onsite management and supervision of their salon. Any general manager hired by the franchisee must be approved by Itan. They must also successfully complete all training programs that Itan requires. Additionally, the general manager must sign the Brand Protection Agreement, which is attached to the Franchise Agreement.

The Managing Owner of the Itan franchise is responsible for supervising each general manager to ensure that the salon is operated according to the Franchise Agreement and the operations manual. Either the Managing Owner or a general manager must be present at the salon for at least 40 hours per week. During normal business hours, if neither the Managing Owner nor a general manager is onsite, either the Managing Owner or the general manager must be readily accessible by telephone or email.

Itan does not require general managers to have any equity interest in the franchise. The FDD also states that Itan will provide an initial training program for the Managing Owner and the initial general managers. If a franchisee chooses to hire a general manager, that general manager must complete the initial training. The high estimate for initial training expenses includes pre-opening payroll for the general manager during the training program.
