What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase and use specific technology systems, including a computer with a designated Microsoft Windows operating system. Specifically, Itan requires a "late model PC computer with current Pro version of Microsoft Windows".
This requirement ensures that all Itan locations operate on a standardized and supported platform. This standardization likely helps with software compatibility, technical support, and data security across the franchise system. Additionally, franchisees must also use Microsoft Office 365 with SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Reader, QuickBooks Online Plus, and the Helios 12 point-of-sale system with 2 terminals.
Itan retains the right to modify these technology system requirements, including the computer system, from time to time. This means that franchisees may need to upgrade or change their computer systems to meet Itan's current specifications. While the FDD does not contractually limit the frequency or cost of these updates, upgrades, or changes, franchisees should be prepared for potential future technology-related expenses to remain compliant with Itan's standards.
