What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 FDD, a prospective Itan franchisee is required to cover the expenses for re-imaging, remodeling, renovating, refurbishing, and modernizing the premises to meet Itan's standards. These standards are detailed in the manual and include design, layout, construction materials, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and signage. Itan may, however, limit the required remodeling to painting and lightweight items to limit the required conversion costs.

The franchisee must hire a licensed and bonded architect to prepare construction plans for converting the premises into an Itan salon. These plans must incorporate minimum modifications and improvements, adhere to the standards in the manual, and comply with all applicable laws.

Overall, the FDD emphasizes that franchisees are responsible for managing and covering the costs associated with setting up and maintaining the Itan salon according to the brand's standards. While Itan may offer some flexibility in remodeling requirements to reduce costs, franchisees should be prepared to invest in meeting the brand's specifications for the salon's appearance and functionality.
