What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must receive prior approval from Itan before remodeling or significantly altering their salon premises. Itan can also reasonably require franchisees to remodel and make improvements to their salons to reflect the franchisor's current standards and specifications.
However, Itan will not require franchisees to spend more than $25,000 on remodeling their salon during any five-year period. This limit excludes changes to equipment. There is no limit to the cost of remodeling that Itan requires as a condition of a transfer or renewal of the franchise agreement.
This means that franchisees need to factor in potential remodeling costs and the need for franchisor approval when planning any changes to their Itan salon. The $25,000 limit provides some predictability, but franchisees should be aware of the potential for higher costs associated with transfers or renewals.
