What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Itan franchisees are provided with iTAN email addresses and accounts, the cost of which is covered by the technology fee. Franchisees must exclusively use these email addresses for all communications related to their salon, including interactions with Itan, customers, suppliers, and other relevant parties. These email addresses cannot be used for any purpose unrelated to the salon. While franchisees are permitted to use the email addresses and accounts during the term of their Franchise Agreement, Itan retains ownership of them.

This arrangement ensures that Itan maintains control over its brand's communication channels and data. By owning the email addresses, Itan can monitor and manage communications to ensure they align with brand standards and legal requirements. This also allows Itan to maintain continuity and access to important business communications even if there is a change in franchise ownership or management.

For a prospective franchisee, this means that upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, they will no longer have access to the iTAN email addresses and accounts. It is a common practice in franchising for the franchisor to retain ownership and control of key brand assets, including email addresses, to protect brand consistency and customer relationships. Franchisees should plan accordingly and ensure they have alternative communication channels for their personal or future business endeavors.
