What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the point-of-sale (POS) system is a crucial component of the franchise's technology infrastructure. It will store a variety of data related to customers, employees, and daily operations. Specifically, the POS system will maintain a database of customer information, including names, addresses, contact details, membership data, and purchase history. This allows Itan to track customer preferences and behaviors, which can be used for targeted marketing efforts and personalized service.
For employees, the POS system will track hours worked and performance data. This feature enables franchisees to monitor employee productivity, manage labor costs, and identify top performers. Additionally, the system will record sales and expense data, providing a real-time snapshot of the salon's financial performance. This information is essential for making informed business decisions, managing cash flow, and ensuring profitability. The POS system also tracks employee commissions.
Furthermore, the Itan POS system interfaces with the tanning beds to ensure sales are accurately recorded and to verify customer identification using fingerprint records. This integration helps prevent fraud and ensures that only authorized customers receive services. Itan also has independent unlimited access to all of this data, with no contractual limits imposed on their access. The initial cost to purchase the computer system and point-of-sale system ranges from $5,000 to $7,000.
