What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must operate their salons in full compliance with the Franchise Agreement, the Manual, and Itan's standards to maintain the goodwill associated with the Marks. The Marks include all service marks, trademarks, trade names, and logos that Itan designates and authorizes salons to use, including iTAN® and iTAN SUN SPRAY SPA®.
The Manual, as described in the FDD, establishes and protects Itan's brand standards and ensures uniformity and quality across all salons. It may include architectural plans, specifications for goods and services, descriptions of services and merchandise, operating procedures, and policies related to various aspects of the business, such as reporting, accounting, insurance, marketing, and data protection.
Itan retains the right to modify the Manual at any time, and these modifications become binding upon notification to the franchisee, subject to any grace period provided for implementation. Compliance with the Manual's provisions, whether current or future, is mandatory for all franchisees. The Manual may consist of written text, videos, tutorials, training modules, recordings, or other means of communication.
Therefore, it is critical for prospective Itan franchisees to understand and adhere to all requirements outlined in the Franchise Agreement and the Manual to maintain the brand's goodwill and ensure consistent operation across all locations. Failing to comply with these standards could potentially damage the brand's reputation and negatively impact the franchisee's business.
