What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a transfer of the franchise requires Itan's approval, and this approval will not be unreasonably withheld if certain conditions are met. One such condition is that Itan believes the proposed transferee has sufficient business experience, aptitude, and financial resources to own and operate a Salon and meets Itan's minimum criteria for franchisees.
This condition ensures that any new franchisee taking over an existing Itan location is qualified to maintain the brand's standards and operational success. It protects Itan's brand reputation and the interests of other franchisees by ensuring that new operators are capable and financially stable.
For a prospective franchisee looking to sell their Itan business, this means they need to find a buyer who not only meets their financial expectations but also satisfies Itan's criteria for business acumen and financial stability. Failing to find a qualified buyer could delay or prevent the sale of the franchise. The prospective buyer should be prepared to demonstrate their qualifications to Itan during the approval process.
