What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, while franchisees can request additional training, Itan is not required to fulfill these requests. However, Itan may require the Managing Owner and general managers to attend system-wide refresher or supplemental training courses from time to time. If Itan inspects a franchisee's salon and finds it is not operating in compliance with the Franchise Agreement and the Manual, Itan may require the Managing Owner and general managers to attend remedial training to address the operational deficiencies observed.
Itan provides its preopening initial training program at no additional charge. However, Itan charges an initial training fee of $1,500 for each person sent to initial training after the salon opens. Itan may charge a training fee of up to $300 per person per day for retraining, remedial training, or additional training requested by the franchisee.
Franchisees are responsible for all wages and travel expenses incurred for training by themselves and their trainees. Itan's initial training program includes 2 to 4 weeks of self-paced remote training, 5 days of hands-on training in San Diego, California, and 5 days of onsite training at the franchisee's salon.
