What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Itan has the discretion to modify the training program based on their assessment of a franchisee's skills, abilities, and prior experience. This applies specifically to the Managing Owner and management personnel. This flexibility allows Itan to tailor the training to the individual needs and backgrounds of their franchisees, potentially optimizing the learning experience and ensuring that franchisees are well-prepared to manage their salons.
This modification is based on Itan's subjective assessment, meaning there are no specific, objective criteria outlined for how these adjustments will be made. This subjectivity gives Itan considerable leeway in determining the extent and nature of any modifications. A prospective franchisee should consider this when evaluating the training program, as the level of customization may vary.
It is important to note that while Itan can modify the training, the Managing Owner is still required to successfully complete initial training to Itan's satisfaction at least 2 weeks before the salon opens. This suggests that while adjustments can be made, there is a baseline level of competency that must be achieved. Franchisees may want to inquire about the typical scenarios in which training is modified and the process for requesting specific adjustments based on their prior experience.
