What is the minimum number of Itan Salons that must be developed to sign an Area Development Agreement?

Itan Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

If you satisfy our criteria for multi-unit developers, we may (but need not) offer you the right to sign the form of Area Development Agreement attached to this Disclosure Document as EXHIBIT "D" (the "ADA"). The ADA grants you the right and obligation to develop, open and operate multiple Salons within a defined "development territory" according to a predetermined "development schedule". You must commit to develop, open and operate a minimum of 3 Salons in order to sign an ADA. You must develop, open and operate all of the Salons identified in the development schedule. You must sign a separate franchise agreement for each Salon you develop. Each franchise agreement will be our then-current form of franchise agreement, which may be different than the form of Franchise Agreement attached to this Disclosure Document.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a prospective franchisee must commit to developing, opening, and operating a minimum of 3 Itan Salons to be eligible to sign an Area Development Agreement (ADA). This agreement grants the franchisee the right and obligation to develop multiple salons within a defined territory, following a predetermined development schedule.

The ADA requires franchisees to adhere to the development schedule and open all salons specified within that schedule. Each Itan salon developed under an ADA necessitates a separate franchise agreement. It is important to note that the franchise agreement for each new salon will be the then-current form, which may differ from the agreement initially presented in the Franchise Disclosure Document.

For prospective multi-unit Itan developers, this minimum commitment of 3 salons is a crucial consideration. It ensures that area developers are serious about expanding the Itan brand within their designated territory. Franchisees should carefully review the Area Development Agreement and the development schedule to fully understand their obligations and timelines for opening new Itan locations.
