What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Itan provides onsite training or assistance, the franchisee is responsible for reimbursing all travel expenses incurred by Itan. This reimbursement obligation does not apply to any onsite initial training conducted before the salon opens.
In addition to reimbursing Itan's travel expenses for certain onsite training, the franchisee is also responsible for all wages and travel expenses that they and their trainees incur for training. This means the franchisee must cover their own costs for attending training programs, including travel, accommodation, and employee wages during the training period.
This cost allocation is a fairly standard practice in franchising. Franchisees generally bear the costs of training, as it is seen as an investment in their own business and the proper operation of their Itan salon. However, franchisees should carefully factor in these expenses when budgeting for the initial setup and ongoing operation of their franchise.
