Who must I hire to prepare initial design plans for my Itan salon?

You must hire a licensed and bonded architect to prepare initial design plans for the construction of your Salon and leasehold improvements. We must approve the initial design plans to ensure they are consistent with our system standards. Once approved, your architect must prepare detailed construction plans that: (a) are consistent with the approved design plans; (b) satisfy all required standards and specifications in the Manual; and (c) comply with all federal, state and local ordinances, building codes, permits and lease requirements and restrictions applicable to the premises. You must submit the final construction plans to us for approval. Once approved, you must construct and equip your Salon according to the approved construction plans and the requirements of the Manual. You must purchase (or lease) and install the Technology Systems, equipment, fixtures, signs and other items we require.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, you must hire a licensed and bonded architect to prepare the initial design plans for the construction of your salon and any leasehold improvements. These initial design plans must align with Itan's system standards, and Itan must approve them.
Once Itan approves the initial design plans, the architect must then prepare detailed construction plans. These detailed plans must be consistent with the approved design plans, meet all standards and specifications outlined in Itan's Manual, and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local ordinances, building codes, permits, and lease requirements.
You must submit these final construction plans to Itan for approval as well. After Itan approves the final construction plans, you are required to construct and equip your Itan salon according to these approved plans and the requirements outlined in Itan's Manual. You are also responsible for purchasing or leasing and installing the required technology systems, equipment, fixtures, signs, and other necessary items.
