Itan Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Prior to use, we must approve all advertising and marketing programs and materials you intend to use, including all materials we did not prepare or previously approve, or that we prepare or approve and you modify.

We must also approve the media you use.

You may not use any advertising materials, programs or media that we have not approved or that we approve and later disapprove.

We have 10 business days to review and approve or disapprove advertising and marketing materials and programs you submit.

Our failure to approve them within the 10 business-day period constitutes our disapproval.

Any advertising you propose and we approve is an "Improvement" for purposes of §17.5.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must obtain approval from Itan before using any advertising and marketing programs and materials. This includes materials that Itan did not prepare or previously approve, as well as materials that Itan prepares or approves but the franchisee then modifies. Franchisees also need approval for the media they intend to use for advertising. Franchisees cannot use any advertising materials, programs, or media that Itan has not approved or that Itan approves and later disapproves.

Itan has 10 business days to review and either approve or disapprove the advertising and marketing materials and programs submitted by the franchisee. If Itan fails to respond within this 10-day period, it is considered a disapproval. Any advertising that the franchisee proposes and Itan approves is considered an "Improvement."

This level of control allows Itan to maintain brand consistency and ensure that all advertising aligns with their overall marketing strategy. For a prospective franchisee, this means they must plan ahead and submit all advertising materials to Itan for approval well in advance of when they want to use them. The 10-day review period should be factored into their marketing timelines. Failure to comply with these advertising guidelines could result in penalties or other enforcement actions from Itan.
