What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the hands-on portion of the initial training program is conducted at a designated training facility in San Diego, California. The FDD specifies that the current designated training facility is a franchised Itan Salon located in San Diego, California. However, Itan retains the right to change the training facility at any time. This hands-on training lasts for 5 days and typically occurs one month before the new salon is scheduled to open, although Itan reserves the right to change the timing.

In addition to the hands-on training in San Diego, the initial training program includes remote training stages and onsite training at the franchisee's salon. Remote training is conducted online through iTAN University and supplemented with live virtual coaching sessions. Onsite training takes place at the franchisee's salon immediately before and through the opening date, where a designated trainer monitors operations and assists with the salon opening.

Prospective franchisees should note that while the initial pre-opening training program is provided at no additional charge, Itan charges a $1,500 training fee for each person sent to initial training after the salon opens. Franchisees are also responsible for all wages and travel expenses incurred for training. Itan may also charge training fees for retraining, remedial training, or additional training requested by the franchisee, up to $300 per person per day. Therefore, franchisees should factor in these potential costs when planning for training and ongoing development of their staff.
