What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor's experience directly informs the training and support provided to franchisees. Faraje Kharsa, the founder and CEO, with 24 years of experience in the field since opening the first salon in 2001, may provide instruction on all topics. Paizlyn Rogers, the Franchise Business Coach, has over 11 years of experience in the tanning salon industry and joined the corporate team in 2022.
The initial training program for Itan franchisees includes a comprehensive approach with remote, hands-on, and onsite components. It consists of 2 to 4 weeks of self-paced remote training, supplemented by 12 hours of live virtual sessions with the Franchise Business Coach. This is followed by 5 days of hands-on training in San Diego, California, and another stage of remote training with 12 hours of virtual coaching. Finally, there's approximately 5 days of onsite training at the franchisee's salon before and during the opening.
Itan also provides ongoing training programs, and may require the Managing Owner and general managers to attend refresher or supplemental courses. New Managing Owners or general managers must complete initial training before managing the Salon. If a Salon isn't compliant with the Franchise Agreement, remedial training may be required. Franchisees can request additional training, but Itan isn't obligated to provide it.
The franchisor's hands-on experience is directly transferred to the franchisee through these training programs, ensuring that franchisees benefit from the knowledge and expertise gained over years of operating and franchising Itan salons. This structured training, combined with the ongoing support and guidance, aims to equip franchisees with the tools necessary to successfully manage and grow their Itan business.
