What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to accommodate various payment methods. Specifically, Itan franchisees must lease or purchase the necessary equipment and/or software to accept payments from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and any other credit card issuers that Itan designates.
This requirement extends to debit cards, credit cards, stored value cards, and other non-cash systems, including options like Apple Pay and Google Wallet, as specified by Itan. Franchisees are obligated to acquire and install all necessary hardware and software to facilitate these non-cash payment systems.
This policy ensures that Itan salons can process a wide range of payment types, enhancing customer convenience. It also means that franchisees must budget for the costs associated with leasing/purchasing and maintaining the required payment processing equipment and software. Staying compliant with Itan's designated payment systems is a condition of the franchise agreement.
