Itan Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must, at your sole expense, re-image, remodel, renovate, refurbish, and modernize the Premises to comply with all standards and specifications in the Manual, including, without limitation, our required design and layout, construction materials, furniture, fixtures and equipment, interior and exterior signage and trade dress.

You must, at your expense, lease or purchase the necessary equipment and/or software and have arrangements in place with Visa, MasterCard, American Express and all other credit card issuers we designate, in order for you to be able to accept such methods of payment from customers. You must accept debit cards, credit cards, stored value cards, and other non-cash systems (including, for example, Apple Pay and/or Google Wallet) that we specify. You must acquire and install all necessary hardware and/or software used in connection with these non-cash systems.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Itan FDD, franchisees must purchase or lease several items to operate their salon. Specifically, the franchisee is responsible for re-imaging, remodeling, renovating, refurbishing, and modernizing the premises to comply with Itan's standards and specifications. This includes design and layout, construction materials, furniture, fixtures, equipment, interior and exterior signage, and trade dress, all at the franchisee's sole expense.

In addition to the physical structure and design elements, Itan franchisees must also lease or purchase the necessary equipment and/or software to accept various payment methods. This includes arrangements with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and any other credit card issuers that Itan designates. Franchisees are also required to accept debit cards, credit cards, stored value cards, and other non-cash systems like Apple Pay or Google Wallet, acquiring and installing all necessary hardware and software for these systems.

Prospective Itan franchisees should carefully consider these requirements, as they represent significant upfront and ongoing investments. The obligation to maintain specific standards and accept various payment methods ensures consistency across the Itan brand but also places a financial burden on the franchisee. Understanding the full scope of these purchasing and leasing requirements is crucial for assessing the overall financial viability of the franchise.
