Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must hire a licensed and bonded architect to prepare initial design plans for the construction of your Salon and leasehold improvements.

We must approve the initial design plans to ensure they are consistent with our system standards.

Once approved, your architect must prepare detailed construction plans that: (a) are consistent with the approved design plans; (b) satisfy all required standards and specifications in the Manual; and (c) comply with all Laws (including the Americans with Disabilities Act), building codes, permits and lease requirements and restrictions applicable to the premises.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to hire a specific type of professional to prepare the initial design plans for their salon's construction.

Specifically, the FDD states that an Itan franchisee must hire a licensed and bonded architect to create the initial design plans for the construction and leasehold improvements of their salon. This requirement ensures that the design plans are professionally prepared and meet the necessary standards.

It is important to note that Itan must approve these initial design plans to ensure they align with the brand's system standards. Once the initial plans are approved, the architect will then need to develop detailed construction plans that are consistent with the approved design, meet all standards and specifications outlined in Itan's manual, and comply with all applicable laws, building codes, permits, and lease requirements.
