What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, when constructing a new salon, the franchisee must hire a licensed and bonded architect to prepare detailed construction plans. These plans must meet specific requirements to ensure the Itan salon adheres to the brand's standards and legal obligations.

The architect must ensure that the construction plans are consistent with the approved design plans. Additionally, the plans must satisfy all required standards and specifications outlined in Itan's Manual, which contains the brand's standards for salon design, layout, and equipping.

Furthermore, the construction plans must comply with all applicable laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, building codes, permit requirements, and any lease requirements and restrictions applicable to the premises. This ensures that the Itan salon is legally compliant and accessible to all customers. Once the plans are approved by Itan, the franchisee is responsible for constructing and equipping the premises according to these approved plans and the specifications in the Manual, at their own expense.
