What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if an IP Dispute occurs, franchisees are only permitted to communicate with Itan and their counsel. Franchisees do not have the discretion to communicate with any other person regarding the IP Dispute.

This policy ensures that Itan maintains control over the handling of intellectual property disputes, protecting the brand's interests and consistency. By centralizing communication, Itan can ensure that the correct information is conveyed and that a unified strategy is followed.

This requirement is important for prospective franchisees to understand, as it limits their autonomy in managing legal issues related to intellectual property. Franchisees must rely on Itan's expertise and guidance in these matters and should be prepared to relinquish control over communication related to such disputes.
