What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Initial Franchise Agreement' refers to the specific Franchise Agreement that a developer executes for the first required salon to be developed under the Area Development Agreement. This definition is important because Itan may require different agreements for the development of subsequent salons.
This distinction matters because the terms of subsequent franchise agreements can vary materially from the initial agreement. This means that while the initial agreement sets the stage, future agreements for additional Itan locations might have different fees, royalties, or operational requirements.
For a prospective Itan franchisee, especially those considering an Area Development Agreement, it's crucial to understand the terms of the initial franchise agreement thoroughly and to recognize that these terms might not be identical in future agreements. Franchisees should pay close attention to how subsequent agreements may differ and factor those potential changes into their long-term business plans.
