What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an Itan Salon must be opened to the public by the earlier of two dates: either 180 days after Itan approves the site, or the first anniversary of the Effective Date of the franchise agreement. This means a prospective franchisee needs to be mindful of these deadlines to ensure timely opening of their Itan Salon.
To meet these deadlines, the franchisee must manage several key steps. These include securing Itan's site approval, completing construction, obtaining necessary licenses and permits, and fulfilling all pre-opening obligations outlined in the franchise agreement and the manual. Itan also requires written notice of the proposed opening date at least 30 days in advance, allowing them to conduct a pre-opening inspection and ensure all standards are met.
Itan retains the right to withhold authorization to open the Salon until all conditions are met. These conditions include the Managing Owner completing the initial training program, obtaining all required licenses and permits, securing necessary insurance policies, and receiving Itan's approval of the Salon's construction and layout. Therefore, franchisees must diligently address each requirement to avoid delays in opening their Itan Salon.
For franchisees operating under a Development Schedule, the opening date listed in the Development Schedule for a Required Salon may be earlier than the opening date required under the terms of the associated Franchise Agreement. In this case, the franchisee must open each Required Salon by the opening date listed in the Development Schedule, even if such date is earlier than the opening date required by the associated Franchise Agreement.
