What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, before a franchisee can open their salon, the Managing Owner must successfully complete Itan's initial training program. This is the first of five conditions that Itan lists as prerequisites for issuing written authorization to open.

In addition to the training requirement, Itan requires that the franchisee obtain all necessary licenses, permits, and approvals from governmental authorities. They must also purchase all required insurance policies and provide evidence of coverage to Itan. The franchisor must review and approve the construction, build-out, and layout of the salon. Finally, the franchisee must fulfill all other pre-opening obligations outlined in the Franchise Agreement and the Manual.

It is common practice in the franchise industry for franchisors to require training and to ensure that franchisees have met all legal and safety requirements before opening. This protects the brand and ensures a consistent customer experience. Prospective Itan franchisees should carefully review the Franchise Agreement and Manual to understand all pre-opening obligations and ensure they can meet these requirements in a timely manner.
