Did Itan ever offer area representative franchises, and if so, during what period?
Itan Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Our company has offered franchises for Salons since 2008. We also offered area representative franchises from August 2012 to December 2014, although we never sold any area representative franchises. In addition to owning and operating at least 1 Salon, area representatives would assist us in selling franchises, and training and supporting franchisees, within a designated development territory. We no longer offer area representative franchises.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Itan offered area representative franchises from August 2012 to December 2014. However, the FDD states that Itan never actually sold any area representative franchises during that time.
Area representatives, in addition to owning and operating at least one Itan salon, would have been responsible for assisting Itan in selling franchises and training and supporting franchisees within a specific designated territory. This is a common practice in franchising, where area representatives act as intermediaries between the franchisor and franchisees in a particular region.
The FDD clarifies that Itan no longer offers area representative franchises. Prospective franchisees should note that while Itan previously explored this model, it is not currently part of their franchise strategy. Instead, Itan offers Area Development Agreements, which grant developers the right and obligation to open multiple salons within a defined territory, requiring a commitment to develop a minimum of 3 salons.
