What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an employee or independent contractor must immediately stop using Itan's Intellectual Property and Confidential Information at such time that they are no longer an employee or independent contractor of the Itan franchisee. This requirement is part of the agreement to protect Itan's brand and proprietary information.
This means that upon termination of employment or contract, the individual is prohibited from using any of Itan's Intellectual Property or Confidential Information for any purpose. This includes, but is not limited to, operating a competing business or disclosing confidential information to third parties. The agreement emphasizes that protecting the Intellectual Property is vital to Itan's success and that of its franchisees.
It is important for prospective Itan franchisees to understand that this obligation extends to their employees and independent contractors. Franchisees must ensure that their employees and contractors are aware of and comply with these restrictions to protect the Itan brand and system. Failure to enforce these provisions could potentially lead to legal repercussions and damage to the Itan franchise system.
