What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, 'Copyrighted Materials' are defined as any materials that can be copyrighted, for which Itan or its affiliates claim or have secured copyright protection, whether through common law or registered copyright. These are materials that Itan allows its franchisees to use, sell, or display when marketing or operating their Itan salon.
For a prospective Itan franchisee, this means that certain marketing and operational materials provided by Itan are protected by copyright law. The franchisee is authorized to use these materials specifically for their Itan salon. This ensures brand consistency across all franchise locations and protects Itan's intellectual property.
The franchisee must only use the Copyrighted Materials in connection with the marketing and operation of their Itan salon. Unauthorized use of these materials outside the scope of the franchise agreement could lead to legal repercussions. It is important for franchisees to understand the scope of their rights and responsibilities regarding the use of Itan's Copyrighted Materials.
