What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a 'Reportable Event' includes any incident at your salon involving significant personal injury. As an Itan franchisee, you are obligated to notify Itan within two business days after becoming aware of such an event.
This requirement ensures that Itan is promptly informed of any incidents that could potentially impact the brand's reputation or lead to legal liabilities. By mandating quick notification, Itan can take appropriate steps to address the situation, provide support to the franchisee, and mitigate any potential damage.
In addition to personal injury incidents, other events that must be reported include the issuance of a citation or notice of violation by a Governmental Authority relating to a health or safety matter, the commencement of a legal action against you or your salon that could materially affect your business or the brand's goodwill, and the conviction or indictment of an owner or manager for a felony or other crime that could harm your salon or the brand. These reporting requirements are designed to protect both the franchisee and the franchisor by ensuring transparency and enabling timely intervention when necessary.
