What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must obtain approval before using any advertising and marketing programs and materials, including those not prepared or previously approved by Itan, or those that Itan prepares or approves but the franchisee modifies. This extends to the media used for advertising. Franchisees cannot use any advertising materials, programs, or media that Itan has not approved or has later disapproved.
Itan has 10 business days to review and either approve or disapprove the submitted advertising and marketing materials and programs. If Itan fails to respond within this 10 business-day period, it is considered a disapproval. Any advertising proposed by the franchisee and approved by Itan is considered an "Improvement."
This requirement ensures that all advertising and marketing efforts align with Itan's brand standards and marketing strategies. It also allows Itan to maintain control over its brand image and messaging. For a prospective franchisee, this means they must plan ahead and submit all advertising materials well in advance of their intended use to allow time for review and potential revisions. The 10-day review period offers a defined timeframe for approval, but the risk remains that materials could be disapproved, requiring further adjustments and potentially delaying marketing campaigns.
