What computer and point-of-sale system is Itan requiring franchisees to purchase and use?

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase specific technology systems. This includes a late model PC computer with the current Pro version of Microsoft Windows, an all-in-one printer/fax/copy/scanning machine, Microsoft Office 365 with SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Reader, QuickBooks Online Plus, and the Helios 12 point-of-sale system with 2 terminals. These systems are essential for managing various aspects of the Itan salon business.

The computer system is generally used for preparing reports, printing advertising and marketing materials, and communicating with Itan through email. Franchisees will use Microsoft 365 to access email, the most current Operations Manual, and iTAN University materials on the LMS platform. QuickBooks Online Plus is designated for performing accounting functions. The point-of-sale system is used to record and report sales, track employee hours and performance, track commissions, host a customer information database, and perform certain marketing functions. It also interfaces with the tanning beds to ensure sales are recorded and to verify customer identification information based on fingerprint records.

Itan provides franchisees with iTAN email addresses and accounts, with the cost covered by the technology fee. Franchisees must exclusively use these email addresses for all communications related to their salon. Itan retains ownership of these email addresses and accounts, allowing franchisees to use them during the term of their Franchise Agreement. It is important to note that Itan may change the components of the Technology Systems from time to time, including the computer system, and franchisees will be responsible for keeping their systems current with Itan's specifications.
