What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Itan does not charge a training fee for system-wide refresher or supplemental training conducted at their headquarters or a company-owned salon. However, Itan may charge a training fee of up to $300 per person per day under certain circumstances.
These circumstances include when a person retakes training after failing a prior attempt, attends remedial training, or attends additional training requested by the franchisee. It is important to note that while Itan does not charge a fee for the initial training program, they do charge an initial training fee of $1,500 for each additional person sent to initial training after the salon's opening date.
This policy regarding training fees is fairly standard in the franchise industry. Franchisors often provide initial training at no cost but may charge for additional or remedial training to ensure franchisees and their staff meet the brand's operational standards. Franchisees should budget accordingly for potential training expenses beyond the initial program, especially if they anticipate needing additional support or if employees require remedial training.
