What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not charged for training materials. The FDD specifies that Itan provides its training materials at no additional charge. These materials consist of virtual presentations, user manuals, directions, videos, and a series of quizzes and tests.

However, Itan does charge certain training fees. Itan provides its preopening initial training program at no additional charge, but charges an initial training fee of $1,500 for each person sent to initial training after the salon opens. Itan may also charge a training fee of up to $300 per person per day for retraining after a failed attempt, remedial training, or additional training requested by the franchisee.

Franchisees are responsible for all wages and travel expenses incurred for training by themselves and their trainees. If Itan provides onsite training or assistance, the franchisee must reimburse all travel expenses incurred by Itan, except for onsite initial training conducted before the salon opens. Therefore, while the training materials themselves are free, franchisees should budget for potential training fees, travel, and wage costs.
