What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor does not charge an additional fee for the preopening initial training program. However, Itan does charge an initial training fee of $1,500 for each person sent to initial training after the salon opens.
The initial training program is for the Managing Owner and the initial general managers. Other owners may attend the initial training, but it is not required. The Managing Owner must successfully complete the initial training at least 2 weeks before the salon opens.
The initial training program includes 2 to 4 weeks of self-paced remote training in two stages, 5 days of hands-on training in San Diego, California, and 5 days of onsite training at the franchisee's salon just before opening. The remote training includes online courses and live virtual coaching sessions. The hands-on training takes place at a designated training facility, which is currently a franchised salon in San Diego, California, but this location may change. The onsite training involves a designated trainer monitoring operations and assisting with the salon opening.
