- 17.2. Intellectual Property Changes. We may change the Intellectual Property at any time in our sole discretion, including by changing the Copyrighted Materials, Know-how, Marks and/or System. You must, at your expense, implement all Intellectual Property changes we require in accordance with our instructions. We are not liable for any Losses or Expenses you incur (including loss of goodwill associated with a Mark) due to a change to the Intellectual Property.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Itan has the authority to modify its Intellectual Property at any time, at its sole discretion. This includes changes to Copyrighted Materials, Know-how, Marks, and the System.
As an Itan franchisee, you are obligated to implement any Intellectual Property changes that Itan requires, and you must do so at your own expense. This could involve updating signage, changing service offerings, or altering marketing materials to align with Itan's new standards.
It's important to note that Itan is not liable for any losses or expenses you incur as a result of these changes, including any loss of goodwill associated with a Mark. This means that if Itan decides to rebrand or modify its services, you will bear the financial burden of adapting your salon to the new Intellectual Property, and you will not be compensated for any potential negative impact on your business. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the potential costs and risks associated with Itan's ability to unilaterally change its Intellectual Property.
