Itan Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We may conduct inspections at any time without prior notice. During the inspection, we (or our representative) will use reasonable efforts to minimize any interference with the operation of your Salon. You and your employees must cooperate and not interfere with the inspection. You consent to us accessing your Technology Systems and retrieving any Business Data we deem appropriate. You must reimburse us for all Travel Expenses and other costs we incur to conduct an inspection to determine if you remedied a: (a) health or safety issue identified by a Governmental Authority; or (b) breach of system standards we bring to your attention. We bear the cost of all other inspections.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Itan's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Itan bears the cost of inspections under normal circumstances. However, the franchisee is responsible for reimbursing Itan for travel expenses and other costs associated with inspections if the inspection is required to determine whether the franchisee has remedied a health or safety issue identified by a Governmental Authority, or a breach of system standards that Itan has brought to the franchisee's attention.

This means that while Itan covers routine inspection costs, franchisees must bear the financial burden of inspections triggered by their failure to address health, safety, or system standard violations. This provision incentivizes franchisees to maintain compliance with regulations and Itan's standards to avoid incurring additional expenses.

For a prospective Itan franchisee, this highlights the importance of adhering to health and safety guidelines, as well as maintaining Itan's system standards. Failure to do so could result in unexpected inspection costs, in addition to any penalties or remedial actions required to correct the violations.
