What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Hydrodog's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hydrodog retains the exclusive right to inspect a franchisee's Hydrodog Business and/or Hydrodog Vehicle at any time during regular business hours, with or without prior notice. This inspection includes unrestricted access to the Hydrodog Business and/or Hydrodog Vehicle.
This means that as a Hydrodog franchisee, you must allow Hydrodog or its agents to enter and inspect your mobile grooming vehicle and business operations at any time during your normal business hours. Hydrodog does not need to give you advance warning before conducting these inspections.
Hydrodog's right to inspect is broad, including the ability to observe, photograph, and videotape operations; remove samples for testing; interview personnel and customers; and inspect and copy records. These inspections are intended to ensure compliance with the franchise agreement and Hydrodog's System Standards. If Hydrodog finds deficiencies during an inspection, you will be notified and given 30 days to correct them. Failure to correct deficiencies can result in non-compliance fees or other remedial actions.
This level of oversight is fairly common in franchising, as franchisors need to protect their brand and ensure consistent quality across all locations. However, the "with or without notice" aspect means franchisees must always be prepared for an inspection during business hours.
